New Mission Hymn “Enable Us”

By on

Our bespoke ministry theme song, “Enable Us,” is based on Acts 4:29.

The STORY: Jesus had returned to heaven. Peter and John were threatened by the Sanhedrin to no longer speak in Jesus’ name, but they chose to “obey God rather than men.” The two then joined with the other believers to share and pray. A portion of that prayer was, “enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness.” Later, Peter wrote us to be ready always, and to speak with gentleness and respect. (1 Peter 3:15).

This then is our prayer as well. Here you see it sung and performed by gifted professionals with some of our Christian volunteers and supporters. The words are included so that you can sing along.

Enable Us, O Lord

Enable us, O Lord, to do Your will,
Enable us, our God, Your plans fulfill.
Keep us focused on the goal,
To bring Your light to every soul—
To finish all that is undone,
So You may come, O Risen Son.

Enable us, O Lord, to speak Your word,
With kindness, love, and truth unheard.
To those who’ve never known Your grace,
Let them glimpse Your holy face—
The glory hidden since the fall,
The hope and life You give to all.

Enable us, O Lord, to seek
Your kingdom first, with hearts made meek.
Equip us, Lord, with holy thirst
For living springs that bubble first—
To overflow in love and peace,
In fellowship that will not cease.

And when the world is dark and cold,
Send forth Your truth, strong and bold.
And when our hearts are filled with fear,
Pour out Your grace to persevere.
And always send Your Spirit near,
To help us serve and draw You near.

Enable us, O Lord our God,
Enable us, we pray.

Especially poignant is the backstory of the lovely vocal soloist. At the time of this filming, she was struggling with metastatic cancer and died a few months later. We feel this makes the graveyard scene even more meaningful and powerful.

The model at the seaside is Huda, the former Muslim that we disciple live in our videos on this YouTube channel and website lessons.

This new hymn is perfect for church worship, mission conferences, and personal devotion. When you sing it, you also pray it. We believe that it will enable you!
